Susan Anne White, who said she wants to re-criminalise homosexuality, and ban pride parades, has come last in West Tyrone.

The candidate last week said that gay people were 40 times more likely to abuse children.

She was defending the DUP’s Jim Wells who was forced to resign after suggesting gay parents were more likely to abuse children.

At a hustings in Omagh she said: “In the main, what Jim Wells said was correct and I can prove it.

“Are you interested in the truth? Is anybody interested in the truth?

“Studies have shown that homosexuals are 40 times more likely than the general populace to abuse children.”

Ms White, previously unveiled her “biblically correct” manifesto.

Pat Doherty of Sinn Fein won in West Tyrone with a 43% share of the vote, and 16,807 votes. In contrast, Ms White gained just 166 votes.

Police last week said they were investigating the comments Ms White said about child abuse.
