Germany’s Klaus Burkart wins Mr Gay World 2015

Germany’s Klaus Burkart has won Mr Gay World 2015.

According to GayNZ, 21-year-old Burkart, who was described as a “milk technician”, won the competition in South Africa.

Saying he would like to become a role model for young gay people around the world, Burkart said: “I would like to lead the world to a point where it is not essential to even have a coming out.”

He now plans a campaign to visit schools and address issues like anti-gay bullying.

“It is my dream to share my campaign with delegates and supporters all over the world. I would really like to work together with them to create similar campaigns adapted for their own countries,” he said.

The countries finishing in the top five this year were Iceland, Belgium, Finland, Germany and Hong Kong.

The title was in November brought home to the UK after the competition took place in Italyin 2014.

Stuart Hatton, a dance teacher from South Shields, previously crowned Mr Gay UK went to the continent to represent the UK at the Mr Gay World competition.

India’s entrant to the Mr Gay World competition reportedly last week went into hiding with his family after being ostracised by their local community. .
