Paul O’Grady will leave the country if David Cameron is Prime Minister again

Naith Payton May 3, 2015

Comedian Paul O’Grady has said he will move to Venice if David Cameron is elected as Prime Minister again.

Mr O’Grady, best known for his character Lily Savage, made the comments at a rally to support Ed Miliband.

He said: “I can’t live under this bloody government any more. I am going to get a house on the Lido in Venice. I have paid a fortune in tax and I will say ‘you can have that mate’.”

“What I am going to do in a house on the Lido in Venice when I can’t speak Italian and hate pasta, God only knows. But I can’t live under this Conservative Government, this Coalition.

“That is why we have to vote Labour, we have to get Ed in, we have to make changes.”

He has previously called David Cameron “a twat”.

Speaking at the Cafe De Paris last year, he said: “I hate this coalition Government. Literally. I’m often quite unspoken about them on television in fact I’ve been banned from the One Show… I can’t tell you how upset I am.

“If you’ll pardon the language, and to use the vernacular of Lily Savage, I think Cameron is a right twat.”

“I think the Lib Dems are as much use as men’s tits.”

He has also spoken about his time at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, which may be under threat from developers.
