Actor Kieron Richardson married his partner of seven years in a lavish ceremony in the Peak District.

The ceremony was attended by many of his Hollyoaks co-stars, past and present. Some were among the twelve bridesmaids who all wore bridal-style white gowns.

Bridesmaid Stephanie Davis – Sinead O’Conner in the show – said before the wedding: “My dress is amazing. It’s dead tight and massive at the bottom – big fat gypsy wedding style. I can’t wait to wear it.”

And just before the ceremony she said on Instagram: “I am so proud of you words can’t even describe! I’ve watched you grown into a beautiful handsome young man who is true to himself!

Mr Richardson plays gay character Ste Hay in the soap, and last year spoke about his character’s HIV storyline.

Co-star Jessica Ellis said on twitter: “Just so happy that I live in a place that let’s two PEOPLE who love each other marry!”

Mr Richardson told the Daily Star: “We want to do what everyone has been doing all these years – because finally we’re allowed to say those vows.

“But that really is the only traditional thing we are doing.”

The event reportedly featured a catwalk show and a performance from The Drifters.
