Orange is the New Black has been renewed for a fourth season by Netflix – before the third season has even aired.

The show – which stars Taylor Schilling as bisexual inmate Piper Chapman – has won acclaim for its diverse, LGBT-inclusive cast, including out comedian Lea DeLaria and trans actress Laverne Cox.

Two months before the third season is set to debut on June 12, Jenji Kohan’s show – which is loosely based on the true story of prison reform campaigner Piper Kerman – has been renewed for a fourth.

Uzo Aduba, who picked up an Emmy last year for her role as Suzanne ‘Crazy Eyes’ Warren, said on Good Morning America: “Season four is now the new news. In June we’re going to go back to work. Netflix just let us know we’re going to be doing a new season.”

The early renewal is a sign of huge confidence from Netflix, who rely on hit shows to drive their online subscriptions.

Laverne Cox became the first transgender person to be nominated for an Emmy for her supporting role last year – though she lost out on the award.

Season four is expected to air in summer 2016. Watch a trailer for the third season below:
