The former Secretary of State and First Lady announced her support for equal marriage back in 2013 – and has consistently shown her support for LGBT issues.
Here are five times she has been amazing on LGBT rights…
Speaking at a Q&A session in Brussels back in 2009, she told a young Moldovan gay rights activist that persecution and discrimination against gays and lesbians is take particularly seriously as one of the pillars of US foreign policy.
She said: “I can only hope that we all live long enough to see the end to this kind of discriminatory treatment and recognition that human rights are the inalienable rights of every person no matter who that person loves.”
…And the US State Department added music and turned it into an uplifting video
In a video for the Human Right’s Campaign entitled Americans for Marriage Equality, Ms Clinton said,”I support marriage for lesbian and gay couples. I support it personally, and as a matter of policy and law, embedded in a broader effort to advance equality and opportunity for LGBT Americans and all Americans.”
