A trailer has been released for a comedy series about two women left single when their husbands both come out as gay.

Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda – who previously starred together in the cult classic 9 to 5 – star in ‘Grace and Frankie’ as the title characters, who are left dangling when their husbands declare their love for eachother.

The women strike up a friendship when their husbands (played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) announce their plans to marry at a dinner.

In real life, Tomlin married her long-term partner Jane Wagner on New Year’s Eve 2013.

The 13-part Netflix series, which was created by Friends creator Marta Kauffman, is set to air from May 8.

A statement said previously: “Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are among the funniest and most formidable actresses ever, and it’s an incredible privilege to give them the opportunity to run riot on Netflix.”

It comes at the same time as the trailer for the third series of Netflix’s hit lesbian prison series, Orange is the New Black.

Australian star Ruby Rose is set appear in the latest series as a new “lust” interest for former lovers Alex and Piper.

Last year, one of the Orange is the New Black writers announced she was divorcing her husband after coming out as a lesbian.
