The first trailer has been released for a “far-ranging” interview Bruce Jenner has recorded with Diane Sawyer, in which the former Olympian is expected to reveal that they have transitioned.

Supermarket tabloids in the US have intensely scrutinised reality star Bruce Jenner’s appearance for months, with InTouch magazine coming under fire for a crudely photoshopped photo of Jenner as a woman in January.

Rumours have been circulating for months that the reality star – who is a step-parent to the Kardashian sisters – has been preparing to publicly come out as trans in the pre-recorded interview with Diane Sawyer.

It will be aired on ABC on 24 April.

Esther Jenner, 88, Bruce’s mother, recently spoke in an interview with the Associated Press following weeks of speculation surrounding her child’s gender identity to confirm that the rumours were true.

Kim Kardashian also addressed rumours about her step parent Jenner having transitioned to female, saying she and their family would support them “no matter what”.

Despite not detailing specifically what will be discussed in the interview, the trailer notes that Jenner and Sawyer will discuss “the journey,” “the decisions,” and “the future.”
