GBBO star Ruby Tandoh comes out!
The Great British Bake Off star and food columnist announced her coming out with a Diana Ross video.
Ruby Tandoh said she was feeling “lucky and joyful and free” after coming out to her parents today, and then to the rest of the world on twitter. She announced the news with a video of Diana Ross performing ‘I’m Coming Out’.
The Guardian food writer thanked “twitter’s queer queens” for giving her the courage to be herself. She also had strong words for people who’d suggested she’d slept with judge Paul Hollywood to get ahead in the BBC baking competition – declaring them “massive s**tting misogynists”.

& to all the bros who hate social media, who pit it against ‘real life’- i never would’ve had courage to be me w/out twitter’s queer queens — Ruby Tandoh (@rubytandoh) April 2, 2015
She then retweeted a joke from a follower about a “spark” between her and judge Mary Berry.
@rubytandoh ps. I totes always suspected there was a spark between you and Mary
