PinkNews.co.uk Staff Writer March 27, 2015

LGBT martial arts is the latest hot London hobby, and Jai’s Martial Art Institute is one of the best places to learn.

8 reasons to take up combat martial arts:

1. Build your confidence

2. Improve your self-control

3. Build stamina

4. Learn to protect yourself

5. Improve co-ordination and reflexes

6. Increase your health and fitness

7. Release stress

8. Most importantly… Meet friends!

——

Jai’s Martial Art Institute is running exclusive combat martial arts classes for the LGBT community and gay-friendly individuals interested in learning.

The lesson offers a variety of martial art forms including Judo, Jiujitsu, Krav Maga, and Wing Chun (Kung Fu) which are put together comprehensively and taught as general self-defence.

Who can join?

The Institute provides a safe place for fellow LGBT and gay-friendly individuals to meet, train and socialise!

No matter the reason whether it be in the interest of learning self-defence or simply to have fun, there is a place for you!

Why Jai’s Martial Art Institute?

Jai’s Martial Art Institute is the only establishment in London that integrates a mix of martial arts in lessons. Students will receive an all-rounded and structured class.

Taught by a professional martial art instructor. At present, there are very limited places in London which martial art classes are taught exclusively to LGBT. As an official LGBT enterprise, Jai’s Martial Art Institute ensures an ego free, fun, friendly environment for students to train and be themselves. It also acts as an alternative social platform to meet new friends.

The Institute believes strongly a supportive and motivating training ambiance is key to help students build self-confidence and self-defence skills.

Class Instructor

Classes are delivered by a qualified lesbian martial art instructor (Sifu Jai Chan) who has over ten years of teaching experience. Sifu Jai specialised in traditional Jujitsu for over ten years and trained Judo with the Hong Kong Judo Team. She has also taken on Kickboxing, Krav Maga and Kung Fu (Wing Chun) in pursuit of being an all-rounded martial artist. She has since competed diversely in Judo, Boxing, Kickboxing, MMA (mixed martial art) and BJJ (Brazilian Jujitsu).

Some cantonese may be used for teaching Kung Fu in class, so students may be able to pick up some Chinese terminologies whilst learning martial art too!
