A local radio DJ has been found guilty of assaulting his wife – after she came home early to discover an 18-year-old man tied up in their living room.

Joanne O’Connor told Kilmarnock Sheriff Court about the incident last year, when she came home early from work to discover the bound teenager.

In the subsequent row with husband Ian Young, the former local DJ allegedly smashed part of his CD collection and assaulted her.

According to the Daily Record, Ms O’Connor told the court: “I knew our marriage was in trouble when I found an 18-year-old man naked and bound in the living room.”

The 49-year-old former DJ says that he came out as gay following the incident, but his wife had called him a paedophile.

Mr Young – also known as John – denied grabbing her hair and chest during the incident, but was found guilty of assault by Sheriff Brian Murphy, and ordered to pay £300.
