Channel 4 has launched a series of short online films profiling the underground black lesbian scene in Britain.

The films, which are available to view on 4OD, explore a range of issues including sex, relationships, gender, family and how young black lesbians feel about other parts of the LGBT community.

The films also look at the issue of mixed-race relationships and how it can be very difficult for black lesbians to feel accepted by their parents and from within the wider black community.

In January, Channel 4 set tough new diversity targets, which require six percent of employees to be lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender by the year 2020.

The broadcaster also said it would be increasing its programming output for diverse groups, including the LGBT community.
