The UK’s Eurovision entry has been compared to a jingle from an advert for Birds Eye Waffles.

It was revealed last night that Electro Velvet – a duo comprised of Mick Jagger tribute artist Alex Larke and former Voice singer Bianca Nicholas – will represent the country with ‘Still In Love With You’.

However, the ‘electro-swing’ song, which was written by David Mindel and Adrian Bax White, has attracted attention online for its similarity to a Birds Eye Waffles jingle.

The “Waffly Versatile” ad – which aired during the 1980s – has a lot of people scratching their heads at the similarity, and several mash-ups have already been created.

40 countries are set to compete in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, with the Grand Final taking place on May 23.
