Fatboy Slim will perform at this year’s Brighton Pride, organisers have announced.

The dance legend, otherwise known as Norman Cook, will be taking to the decks in the Wild Fruit tent for the city’s annual LGBT festival in Preston Park on Saturday 1 August.

“There are many reasons I love my home city,” he said. “Our tolerance and encouragement of alternative lifestyles is one of my favourites, It is a pleasure therefore for me to join in celebration our LGBT community in the fruitiest way I know how.”

Pride director Paul Kemp said: “Norman’s always been a great supporter of the City and Pride. The 25th Anniversary Pride is a landmark year for Pride and we’re thrilled his agreed to waver his fee to help support Pride and celebrate ‘Pride in our City’.”

Mr Kemp added: “We’ve come a long way, long way together and Fatboy Slim will ensure we’ll celebrate our community’s amazing achievement in true Brighton Pride style.”

Norman Cook performed at Brighton Pride for the first time in 2012 and spoke to PinkNews about the importance of same-sex marriage.
