Rosie O’Donnell has reportedly filed for divorce from her wife Michelle Rounds.

O’Donnell became known during a stint on The View in 2007, and made a return to the panel show last year.

However, earlier this month O’Donnell announced both her departure from the show and her split from her wife.

The comedian has this week filed for divorce – with the pair citing “an irretrievably broken relationship”. According to the documents, the pair had a pre-nuptial agreement in place.

Announcing her departure from the View earlier this month, O’Donnell’s publicist had said: “I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November. Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention.

“This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first.

“ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave ‘The View.’ Next week will be her last.”

The pair had a daughter together, Dakota, in addition to O’Donnell’s children from previous relationships.

In August of 2012, O’Donnell suffered a heart attack after she helped a large woman out of a car. She revealed the news in a poem.
