Sam Smith silences weight critics with childhood photo
Sam Smith has shared a photo of himself as a child, in response to critics of his weight.
He said: “I like that he’s chubby and gay, that’s why I love him.”
This week the ‘Stay With Me’ singer shared a photo from his childhood on Instagram – in which he is looking notably larger.
He wrote: “How about that time I picked my name out of a hat in primary school and had to collect a healthy eating award looking like THIS!! Hahahaha Vision of health hahahaha”
The singer came out in May last year, when he revealed that his album ‘In the Lonely Hour’ was about a man he fell in love with.
He said: “I don’t hate Russia, but I just will never go to Russia [because] what they do to gay people there is just disgusting and it makes me very angry.
“I’ve even said, no matter how many billions of pounds you could offer me, I just couldn’t, which makes me sad because I have Russian fans. They contact me on Twitter, it makes me sad.”
