Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho, a satire based on Section 28, comes to the West End next month.

Mrs Thatcher is coming to Soho this March in a new drag musical comedy show ‘Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho’.

Matthew Tedford plays a version of Mrs Thatcher who gave up being Prime Minister to become a “gay rights championing cabaret superstar.”

The show is includes a tongue in cheek reference to Section 28, the legislation that banned the ‘promotion’ of homosexuality to minors.

A trailer for the show has been released that begins with the words “There have been many prime ministers but only one… IS A STAR!”

‘Mrs Thatcher’ has already proved a hit with audiences. The show had a sell out run at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a run at the Brighton Fringe and a star studded week at the International Gay Theatre.

The show will feature classic 80s songs including YMCA and It’s Raining Men. It will run from Tuesday 17th March until Saturday 21st March at the Leicester Square Theatre.
