Boyhood star Patricia Arquette has praised Bruce Jenner over their transition, and said she was inspired by her own trans sister.

Patricia Arquette, who is nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film ‘Boyhood’, has come out in support for Bruce Jenner in light of negative media coverage.

Recently it emerged that US magazine In Touch had photoshopped Jenner’s face, adding lipstick and putting his head on a picture of “Dynasty” star Stephanie Beacham’s body.

She said: “These newspapers, these magazines, that are being so disrespectful. They should be ashamed because they really are on the unforgivable side of history and what they are doing is pathetic and immature and repulsive.”

Arquette’s sister Alexis Arquette is transgender and came out twenty years ago.

“I feel like Alexis, my sister, has taught me so much about love and acceptance. I said, “I don’t care what package you’re comfortable in, I love and accept you. I am glad you are here on earth. I want to be with you, spend time with you.””

She praised Jenner for their bravery, saying that they’re fighting for young people experiencing the same thing.

“You have to be so brave to live this truth of who you are. If Ms. Jenner is transitioning, I give all my support to her and love and appreciate everything she has given to America and her bravery.”

Jenner has the full support of their own family, with their mother and daughters coming out to voice pride in what Jenner is going through.

Recently, Jenner’s step-daughter Kim Kardashian said: “Of course we support Bruce 100 percent. He’s our dad so we support him no matter what, and I think when the time is right, he’ll talk about whatever he wants to talk about. I just think it’s his story to talk about, not really mine.”
