Azealia Banks has claimed that it is fine for her to use “faggot” as an insult, because gay men often say “bitch”.

The bisexual rapper’s remarks are the latest in a long string of controversial comments – calling Perez Hilton a “faggot”, and claiming that LGBT rights charity GLAAD were “media whores” with “no integrity”.

Earlier this week, she told a blogger: “even if i am a homophobe… so wat? [sic] i still make more $ than you.”

The star has now taken to Twitter again to rant about the gay community – titling the post “Azealia Banks is Homophobic 1”.

She wrote: “Why is it okay… For a gay man to colloquially use the word ‘Bitch’ to refer to women, but is it not okay for me to colloquially use the word “Faggot” to refer to myself or an opponent?

“Do gay men get a special pass to say misogynist things simply because they Like dick? The argument is that countless gay kids hear the word “faggot” before they are beat to death…

“But do you know how many women hear the word “Bitch” before their husbands beat them to death? Before they are murdered/raped…?”

Banks manages to use the word ‘bitch’ 16 times in her only hit single, 212.

She said previously: “Gay media has to stop using homophobia as a means to try and victimize itself and scar the names of its opponents.

“Phobia would imply that I am scared of gay men or dislike them because of what they choose to do sexually. I promise, no one gives a fuck what u decide to do in your private lives.

“But I also promise, that no matter how bitchy and clever you think you are.. That I will out-bitch you.

“But I’m just going to ignore yall from here on out cause YALL are really just reaching and looking for any reason to insert ur selves in the Azealia Banks story”
