A top London lawyer has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, after his boyfriend died of a suspected drug overdose.

Henry Hendron, a 34-year-old civil barrister, was arrested in London on Tuesday morning, after the sudden death of his boyfriend, 18-year-old Miguel Jimenez.

PinkNews understands that a Sunday newspaper plans to run a story because of Mr Hendron’s close friendship with senior Tory MP Nigel Evans.

Mr Hendron has represented a number of prominent clients, including Conservative MP Nadine Dorries and Apprentice winner Stella English.

His brother Richard Hendron told PinkNews: “My brother is completely devastated at the loss of the love of his life Miguel. This is very sad and tragic.”

A spokesperson for City of London Police told PinkNews: “Police were called at 08.58 on Tuesday 20 January to a residential address in the Temple following reports of a sudden death.

“London Ambulance Service and City of London Police attended the scene. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Next of kin have been informed. The death is being treated as unexplained at this time.

“A post mortem has proved inconclusive, therefore toxicology tests will be conducted in an attempt to determine the cause of death.

“A 34 year old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation.”

Mr Hendron has been bailed until March.
