A gay kiss-in has been held at a Plymouth pub at which a same-sex couple say they were kicked out for kissing.

PinkNews reader Darren Barnett and his boyfriend Dylan Morris were in the St Levan Inn, Plymouth celebrating Morris’ birthday, and that they shared a peck on the lips, but that pub landlord Paul Bodenham, who said it was “revolting” told them not to kiss again or they would have to leave.

Pub owner Ann Lawrence denied that the management are homophobic, saying she was “bloody fuming” about it, and calling Morris and Barnett “two stupid people”, who were “snogging” in the pub.

She also said: “Nobody would have known they were gay if they hadn’t started snogging.”

The kiss-in took place last night at the pub, as protesters gathered holding banners, and same-sex couples kissed.

The protest was attended by a local councillor who said the comments were not representative of the local community.
