American rapper Snoop Dogg has been threatened with a lawsuit for a mocking Instagram post about a gay man.

He posted a photo of carer Cortez Booze, a carer, with the caption “whose auntcle is this?” which prompted a wave of homophobic and transphobic comments from his fans. Some users called him “ugly” and “shemale”.

One user wrote: “That shemale ain’t gone win. U get wat u get if u choose to dress how u dress. Consequences for your choices so use some common sense.”

Mr Cortez, from Edgewater, Maryland, has approached Instagram to ask for the photo to be taken down, and plans to sue Snoop Dogg, according to TMZ.

Snoop Dogg came under fire for calling a fan a “fag” in September. He said: “U n ya boyfriend since u like Jumpn on my page disrespectn bitch boy go suck ya man n get off my line f.A. G”

Also known as Snoop Lion, he has said in the past that being gay will never be acceptable in hip hop, but then later claimed there will be an openly gay rapper “in the near future”.
