A man has been assaulted in the East Midlands town of Corby in a violent homophobic attack.

The victim was in the Rubix nightclub in Corby at around 2am on Sunday 28 December.

He was approached by a stranger who spat in the man’s face and hurled homophobic abuse at him.

After leaving, the suspect returned, punched him in the throat, made more homophobic remarks and left.

Police say the man was white, around 5’4″, spoke with a foreign accent and was wearing jeans and a black leather jacket.

Anyone with information should call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
