A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with the killing of a trans woman in California.

Aniya Parker was killed in East Hollywood in October. The teenager’s name was not released because he is a minor, but Los Angeles Police confirmed his arrest.

Despite being a minor, the 17-year-old faces being charged as an adult.

Police sought to speak with two other people in connection with the killing, but no other information was given.

A $50,000 reward was offered for information in the murder of Parker leading to an arrest. She was shot in the head after a struggle for her bag on 2 October.

Police described the killing of the 47-year-old as a “robbery gone bad”. Her shooting was caught on camera from a nearby CCTV camera.
