Gay entertainer Liberace is set to make a comeback for a world tour – 27 years after he died.

The pianist, entertainer and actor – who was long known to be gay but never publicly acknowledged his sexuality – will re-appear after the Liberace Foundation agreed to a series of hologram shows.

Liberace died in 1987 of AIDS-related complications, but much of the events were shrouded in secrecy – with his physicians giving explanations including anemia, emphysema, and heart disease.

The icon will be revived using hologram tech so realistic that he will be able to “interact” with the audience.

Jonathan Warren of the Liberace Foundation, which has control of the majority of the eccentric entertainer’s assets, said: “You’ll feel the warmth from his heart, the sparkle of his eye and the pure lightning from his fingertips.”

Alki David of Hologram USA – which has focussed on several “celebrity resurrection projects” – added: “This is a major step in the evolution of this medium for entertainment.

“With our partners at the Liberace Foundation we’ll be able to stage a show so lifelike — the room will be filled with all of the great singer’s charm and charisma.”

The company plans to announce a Las Vegas Liberace show “very soon”, with plans to “roll it out across the USA and… globally.”
