Watch: The lesbian ’50 Shades of Gray’ parody we’ve all been waiting for

A parody of the trailer for upcoming romance film 50 Shades of Gray has been released.

The parody, titled ’50 Shades of Gay’, sees the character of Christian Gray replaced by ‘Miss Gay’ – a domineering lesbian business executive.

The clip is a less heteronormative parody of the latest trailer for the upcoming film (below).

It was produced by lesbian Youtube channel UnsolicitedProject, and features the couple eating vegan food, binge-watching ‘Orange is the New Black’ on Netflix, and moving in a U-haul.

The parody stars Elise Bauman and Julia Vally, while the upcoming film – set for release on Valentine’s Day in February – will star Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

Last year, American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis claimed it would be ‘ludicrous’ to cast a gay actor like Matt Bomer in Fifty Shades of Grey.

He said: “Okay. Let’s finalise this. Matt Bomer is totally hot and a very good actor. He is NOT right for Christian Grey and it complicates the role.

“Fifty Shades of Grey: Matt Bomer: I don’t care how good an actor you are but being married to another man complicates things for playing CG.

“It’s NOT about discrimination. It’s about an intensely straight actor wanting absolutely to screw Ana Steele.”
