Students hijacked a Q&A with homophobic Texas governor Rick Perry at their college this week – to ask him about anal sex.

Republican Governor Rick Perry is one of the most notorious anti-gay Republicans, comparing homosexuality to alcoholism and regularly speaking at anti-gay rallies.

However, he probably wasn’t expecting the reception he got when speaking to students at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire – with students who object to his homophobic views “trolling” the politician with questions about gay sex.

One questioner asked: “In your campaigns you have received hard-money campaign contributions of $102 million, half of which came from 204 donors. Would you have anal sex for $102 million?”

Another put to the governor: “Recently in San Francisco, you explained that being gay is like being an alcoholic. Would you like to get drunk and be gay with me?”

A third said: “Does your ideal anti-sodomy law prevent me from playing with my own poop shoot?”

The stunt has been met with condemnation from the College, with College Democrats President Spencer Blair saying: “I think it’s really disappointing that anyone would undermine a serious political event with sexually explicit questions.”

However, Emily Sellers – who asked a question about anal sex – retorted: “When confronting those in power who actively disrespect the rights and humanity of others, any demand to civility is ironic.

“The questions were offensive because they confronted his actual policies.

“Why is our tone — as politically powerless undergrads — more offensive and shocking than his enacted homophobia as a man with incredible amounts of money and power?”

Rick Perry is currently facing an abuse of power charge.
