The Football association is to host two practical and interactive one-day events on LGBT participation in football.

Attendees from clubs, leagues, and county FAs can sign up to one of the two free events.

The first event will be held at Wembley Stadium on November 25 and the second will be held at St George’s Park on December 2.

According to the FA, the events aim to “develop strategies to ensure LGB&T colleagues, players, fans and wider football community feel included, valued and supported.”

They will also feature practical training on how to prevent and tackle homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in football.

The Football Association’s new Inclusion Advisory board member apologised in January for telling the BBC that homosexuality is detestable.

One of the board’s primary roles is to tackle homophobia within the sport.
