Liberal Democrats are seen as more likely to be submissive during sex, according to research.

According to polling data from a YouGov survey, 19 percent of people agree that Lib Dems are ‘submissive’ in their sex life – above Labour on 7 percent, the Tories on 6 percent, and UKIP on 3 percent.

Meanwhile, 27 percent of people agreed that UKIP voters are ‘dominant’ in bed – above 17 percent for the Tories, 13 percent for Labour and just 5 percent for the Lib Dems.

Nottingham politics professor Philip Cowley made the claims in a new book – Sex, Lies and the Ballot Box.

Another section of the survey found that UKIP voters are seen as the dullest in bed.

Joe Twynman observes: “There are a couple of serious messages lodged in among all the kinky imagery.

“First, voters have quite distinctive views about the sex lives of Britain’s main political tribes, illustrating the power of political stereotypes and party images, which reach even into the nation’s bedrooms.

“Second, while the parties have distinct bedroom images in the minds of voters, voters tend to regard all party supporters as deviating from the bedroom behaviour of ‘normal’ (that is, non-political) citizens.”
