Transgender model Andreja Pejić has said she feels more like herself than ever since coming out, and is now hoping to fall in love and experience motherhood.

Pejić, who began modelling in 2007, came out as trans in July.

Talking to Today on Friday, she said: “I’ve always believed I’ve had a female identity it just took me 23 years to live the life I’ve always wanted.

“I feel more like myself than ever, and I feel very happy to be back in my home town (Melbourne).

“My transition has allowed me to live a truthful life and achieve my biggest dreams.

“Marriage would be great, kids would be amazing – I’ve always wanted to be a mother.”
Pejić has been famed for her androgynous appearance in the past, and last year co-starred in a David Bowie music video alongside Tilda Swinton.

She added: “I hope to keep modelling for as long as I can, I would live to study at university. I would love to inspire people.”

The model is now crowd-funding a documentary via Kickstarter on her transition.
