Men have been using social media to share photos of themselves in their pants in an effort to raise funds for the fight against HIV.

Gay men’s health charity GMFA has launched the new social media appeal, which encourages donors to pose in their pants, share the image, donate £5, and encourage their followers to do the same by nominating two friends.

Those tweeting images are encouraged to use the hashtag #Pants2HIV, and text ‘GMFA14 £5’ to 70070.

The campaign asks for support, noting that “GMFA receives no government funding for any of our HIV prevention work.

“We need your help to continue to reach more gay men with vital sexual health advice, so we can all make better choices, for better health and have great sex.”

A GMFA spokesman told PinkNews: “We’ve had an amazing response to the campaign so far and we’d love it if you could help us spread the message even further. As an unfunded charity, every donation we receive counts.”

More information is available at the GMFA website.
