A man in the US state of Tennessee has organised a billboard in his state which quotes a bible passage which calls homosexuality “an abomination”.

The Vietnam veteran Ronnie Monday, who lives in Portland, said he was sick and tired of the US straying away from the Bible.

So he and his friends bought the billboard, which quotes Leviticus 18: “You shall not lie with a man as with a woman. It is an abomination.”

Speaking to WSMV, he said: “I hate to see America turn their [sic] back on God.”

Monday said he reached the end of his tether when President Obama publicly declared his support for same-sex marriage.

He said: “That was the last straw. I thought ‘God needs his voice out’.”

A ‘God Loves Gays’ billboard was last week unveiled in the home town of the notoriously anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church, after a crowdfunding campaign.
