A pair of men walking together in Bridgnorth had their car smashed by homophobic thugs last week.

A 24-year-old man had been walking his dog together with another man on September 7, approached them and shouted anti-gay slurs.

When the men returned to their silver Ford Fiesta to leave the area, however, they found a group of 6 to 7 people had surrounded their car.

One member of the group picked up a metal bin and attempted to smash the side windows, while a second threw a brick through the windscreen.

According to police, the group screamed homophobic slurs at the men throughout the attack.

Police have appealed for witnesses following the incident.

One of the women is described as white with ginger hair, and aged about 40.

Two further men, both described as being about 40, one with short blond hair.
