Televangelist Pat Robertson: Questioning teen needs “male companions”

Katie Dupere August 26, 2014

On a recent episode of The 700 Club, a viewer wrote to anti-gay televangelist Pat Robertson asking for advice regarding her 13-year-old stepson who has “crushes on boys.”

The viewer wrote that the stepson is being raised mostly by his mother, which Robertson deduced is why he is developing crushes on boys.

Robertson told the viewer: “Before I’d do anything else, I would get him male companions.

“I’d get him some man to help him, some mentor, someone who cares about young men, in a fatherly or elder brother way.”

Robertson has previously told a mother asking for advice on how to talk to her gay son that she should “pray for him” and ask whether he was “molested” by a coach.
