Ice Bucket Challenge: The 7 best videos

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has taken social media by storm – we look at some of the best videos so far.

The challenge, which raises money for the ALS [motor neurone disease] Association, requires people nominated to either donate $100 to charity or pour a bucket of ice-water over their head.

It has swept the world by storm, with many celebrities and gay icons taking part.

1. John Barrowman

The Torchwood and Doctor Who star – who shared a kiss with a backing dancer during his appearance at last month’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow – posted a video with speedo-wearing husband Scott Gill dumping an entire bin full of ice over him.

2. Oprah Winfrey

The talk show icon, who was recently forced to shelve plans for a documentary about gay NBA player Michael Sam, holds the record for best post-ice bucket challenge scream.

3. Lady Gaga

The Born This Way singer put a more artistic spin on the challenge, silently pouring a bowl of water over her head while dressed in black and wearing black lipstick.

4. Stephen Amell

Nominating his Arrow co-star John Barrowman, superheo star Stephen Amell took up the challenge on-set, showing off his shirtless physique

5. Matt Bomer

The vest-wearing Magic Mike star, who recently earned an Emmy nomination for his role in AIDS drama The Normal Heart, adorably got his sons to dump coolers full of ice over him.

6. Tim Cook

The Apple CEO, who publicly attended his first Pride parade this year, took the challenge in front of a crowd, alongside recording artist Michael Franti

7. Cara Delevingne

Supermodel Cara Delevingne, who dated Hollywood actress Michelle Rodriguez earlier this year, took the challenge in a white t-shirt (which is not the best idea).
