The National Aids Trust (NAT) has appointed Deborah Gold, formerly at Galop, as its new Chief Executive.

Gold worked previously at Galop, the LGBT anti-violence and abuse charity between 2007 and 2013, and previously at Stonewall Housing, Shelter and the London Voluntary Services Council.

She is also Chair of the Crown Prosecution Service London Scrutiny and Involvement Panel.

“I am thrilled to be joining NAT, a charity for which I have immense respect and admiration. It’s a crucial time when reducing levels of awareness, increasing diagnoses, the devastating impact of the changes to welfare benefits, and the challenges of ensuring equal access to care all mean that there is much for NAT to do. I am very much looking forward to joining NAT’s team of Trustees, staff and volunteers and playing my part in improving the lives of people living with HIV in the UK,” said Gold.

Dame Denise Platt, Chair of NAT added: “We are delighted to welcome Deborah Gold to NAT. She is a highly successful voluntary sector leader who will bring a passionate commitment to equality and human rights, coupled with a proven track record of campaigning and influencing and sound management and fundraising experience.”

Gold will take up her appointment on 27 October 2014. In the meantime, Susie Parsons will continue to lead NAT as Interim Chief Executive.
