US: LGBT monument vandalised with ‘666’ graffiti

Joseph McCormick July 2, 2014

An LGBT monument in the US state of Texas has been vandalised, and tagged with “666”, written in red paint.

The Legacy of Love monument in Oak Lawn, was vandalised on Sunday.

The 35-foot monument is considered a local landmark, and is often a gathering place for the LGBT community in Dallas.

The monument was named after an endowment started by Dallas resident Donna Fishel. She and other Dallas residents raised money for a couple who died from AIDS related complications.

A community group volunteered to spend an afternoon clearing the graffiti from the monument.
