Shia LaBeouf enters rehab after calling police officer ‘fag’

US actor Shia LaBeouf has entered rehab just days after reportedly hurling homophobic abuse at police.

X17online reports the actor was photographed entering a treatment facility in Hollywood on Monday. He was an Alcoholics Anonymous book, according to a photographer.

Last week the 28-year-old Transformers star screamed at officers: “Fuck you. I’ll fuck you up”, while allegedly later labelling the officer taking his fingerprints a “fag”.

The altercation came after LaBeouf was led away from a New York City theatre under arrest, having allegedly disrupted a performance of Cabaret by slapping audience members and smoking.

The show currently features openly bisexual Scottish actor Alan Cumming in the role of the Emcee.

LaBeouf has in recent months become known for his surreal public outbursts, following accusations of plagiarism last year.

In July, actor Jonah Hill offered a “sincere apology”, after video emerged online of him calling a photographer a “faggot”.
