Police in the state of Michigan care investigating a violent attack on a gay man by five to eight men, during a pride celebration in Detroit.

Christin Howard says he was verbally abused, before being attacked by the men. He had cuts on his face, a bruised and bloody eye, and a broken finger.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Mr Howard said he thought he was going to die during the attack.

A video taken on a mobile phone showed him struggling whilst being attacked by the men.
