Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher did not see the funny side when Alan Carr suggested he should have the role of C3PO because the robot is “a bit gay.”

Fisher, best known for playing Princess Leia, responded by saying: “You can say that but I’m not going there. She added: “Don’t out C3PO.”

The actress suggested that Carr was too fat to be the robot.

She said: “And anyway you wouldn’t fit into his costume.

“The man who plays him is skinny.”

The Daily Star reports she then claimed Carr would be better off playing one of the intergalactic creatures often seen in the space bars in the movies.

He gasped: “What, with all those mingers?”

Fisher appeared on the gay comedian’s show to promote the new Star Wars movie, out next year.

You can watch the awkward exchange on Channel 4’s Chatty Man tonight.
