UK: Antony Cotton mocks Sainsbury’s for only covering up gay magazines
Soap actor Antony Cotton has slammed Sainsbury’s for covering up the front pages of gay magazines, while leaving a scantily clad photo on the front of FHM uncensored.
The Coronation Street star took to Twitter to laugh about the ‘ironic’ decision to hide the covers of GT and Attitude, but leave straight ones uncovered, in a Salford branch of the chain known locally as ‘gay Sainsbury’s’.

Fans of Cotton, who has appeared on Coronation Street as Sean Tully since 2003, barraged the store’s Twitter account with complaints.

A reply from the store read: “Hi Antony, we cover a broad range of mags, not just Attitude and GT. We understand your feelings and will review this. Thanks.”

After receiving the message from the store, he returned to see they appeared to have hastily made a new laminated screen for FHM, rather than uncover the others.
