US: Kansas bill would ban anti-LGBT discrimination
Less than one month after a bill to legalise anti-gay discrimination was passed in the Kansas House, a politician has drafted a bill to ban such discrimination.
Kansas City Representative Louis Ruiz on Tuesday presented a proposal to the House Federal and State Affairs Committee.
The Committee agreed to sponsor the bill which would outlaw discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.
Similar proposals have failed to pass in recent years in the Republican-controlled legislature.
