Police in New York City are asking for more information in the case of a murdered gay rights activist, one year after the incident.

Police have said 62-year-old NYC resident Lou Rispoli died shortly after he was attacked by three men with a blunt object on 20 October 2012 in Sunnyside, Queens.

Mr Rispoli’s partner of 31 years Danyal Lawson described the victim as “an incredible person” who “took care of everyone.”

He died of his injuries five days after, when Mr Lawson made the decision to take him off life support.

A memorial service took place for Mr Rispoli a month after his death.

Police released sketches of two men wanted for the violent attack. There was no description of the third suspect. Police believe the suspects fled in a white or grey four door sedan with a loud muffler.

A reward of $22,000 (£13,500) is offered for information which leads to an arrest and conction.
