Anti-gay Christian radio host Linda Harvey, has claimed that the number of incidents of abuse within the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), will dramatically increase, as well as the beginning of “condom training and cross-dressing troop members”, since it has allowed gay members.

Last week, the BSA’s final vote on the issue of gay members took place in Dallas-Fort Worth, Grapevine, where over 60% of the 1,400 strong national council of local leaders, voted to lift the national ban. The ban on adult members remains in place.

Writing in a column for WorldNetDaily, Harvey, of MissionAmerica radio, claimed the BSA would be highly sexualised, including “condom training”, as it allowed gay members, and said on her radio bulletin that troops “should not be a social experiment”, reports RightWingWatch.

“Condom training, cross-dressing troop members and lessons on “homophobia”: Welcome to the new, improved Boy Scouts of America.”

She went on to write that “Boy Scout parents and leaders who actually believe the pink mafia will stop here are beyond naïve,” saying there will be a higher number of incidents of abuse, as a direct result of allowing gay members.

“As time rolls on, there will be incidents of abuse. Will the Boy Scout organization report these? Let’s not kid ourselves. They just showed how compromised/intimidated/clueless they are. Expect cover-up upon cover-up in the future, eventually resembling the Catholic Church scandal.

“The climate of assent will erode each boy’s code of ethics, either quickly or slowly, but it will happen. It will erode the Christian boy’s reliance on Scripture, his relationship with the real, living Almighty God and our Savior Jesus Christ.”

Anti-gay Christian radio host Bryan Fischer also commented on the BSA’s decision, to say that the organisation should be renamed the “Boy Sodomisers of America”.

Texas Governor Rick Perry, also voiced his disappointment at the Boy Scouts of America’s decision to lift its national ban on gay youth members, saying that he was “greatly disappointed” in the decision.
