StreetGames UK is looking to recruit trustees to join its board. The role is a voluntary position that is currently being advertised to the PinkNews readership.

StreetGames UK is a sports charity launched in January 2007 to promote sport for young people living in the most disadvantaged communities. We are looking for proficient individuals to join our Board of Trustees in February 2013.

Since 2007 StreetGames has grown into a charity that provides a range of support and services to a growing network of over 250 local projects across the UK. Over 40,000 young people are attracted annually to activities organised by local projects and in March 2012 we reached a cumulative participation rate of over 2 million attendances. The organisation continues to grow and the momentum for investment into deprived communities to deliver sustainable estate based sport is increasing.

Our values:-

  • We are a creative, learning organisation that challenges with integrity
  • We support a network and are collaborative in nature
  • We go the extra mile to make sure our work has most impact
  • We stand accountable for our actions
  • We value and support people to develop skills, knowledge and experience

Joining the Board of Trustees
Membership of the Board is a voluntary commitment and as such may require significant sacrifice on the part of those who become Board Members. We are seeking Trustees with knowledge and skills in company and charity governance, experience and understanding of sport and young people and of the communities in which StreetGames works.

The Board of Trustees meet four times a year in London and the Trustees are also invited to come into our offices on various occasions to assist with interviewing, fundraising, decision making etc. Trustees are also always welcome to visit our offices in London and Manchester at any time and see how we work as a team.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this innovative and pro-active charity please contact our Administration Officer Ellie Johnson via email ([email protected]) or contact our London office on 020 7735 9800 for an application pack and more information.

All applications are to be submitted by email before 5pm on Friday 25th January. Interviews are expected to take place on Monday 4th February 2012 after 4pm.
