Angelina Pivarnick, formerly a cast member on the hit US television series, Jersey Shore, has been featured in an online video debate around equal marriage, and argued her point against the idea.

The debate, titled, Should Gay Marriage Be Legal, was shown online by Deyoon.com, featured Adam Barta, musician and actor, who argued for equal marriage, and Ms Pivarnick argued against. She said:

“I love gay people, I have a lot of friends that are gay, and no offence to any gays out there. If I am offending anyone of you, I’m sorry.

“I don’t think gays should be married. If you want to date each other fine, see how it works. In the end, they should marry their other type.

“I don’t think it has anything to do with taxes, I understand you’re a citizen, but I don’t believe gays should be married. You know, women are supposed to be pregnant by the men that they’re with. And [the women] should be able to have beautiful children.”

She went on to say she understood that gay people could adopt, but said:

“When you read the bible… I am Catholic… God does not intend people to be gay, I’m sorry, just like he doesn’t want divorce. Divorce is way bigger than gay marriage.”

When questioned on why she wasn’t supporting a campaign against those people who have been divorced, she said:

“My parents are fucking divorced, it ruined my life since I was a little girl. When you’re gay and you marry your spouse or whatever, whoever your other gay partner is, what I’ve been seeing lately is that a lot of gay people decide to not be gay anymore. My friend Louis is gay, but he has decided to turn bisexual now.

“You wanna have your little flings with your gay partner when you’re younger, and see how it is, or whatever, that’s fine. Initially when it’s time to marry, you should marry either if you’re a male, marry a woman, and if you’re a woman marry a male.

“I’ve kissed girls in clubs before, I’ve been drunk, it happened. Girls wanted to go down on me but I didn’t let them.

“I can’t picture myself marrying a girl, that’s just not something I want. I think girls are very attractive and I think some girls are hot, and I kissed some girls, but I wouldn’t consider myself gay, I’m not bisexual, I like men. I just feel like I should marry a man.

When asked if she thought that it would be fair for somebody to say that they didn’t want women to vote, she said “I don’t care about voting”.

Adam Barta Tweeted shortly after the debate saying: “My big gay marriage debate w/Jersey Shore’s @angelinamtvjs! It’s SO cool to debate like this”

According to BuzzFeed, Ms Pivarnick was removed from Jersey Shore for “being too boring”, and according to her Twitter feed, she had plans to get a job working in television again.

The first post of two on Ms Pivarnick’s new website, posted on 2 October, read:

“This is where you will get to see and talk to the REAL Angelina Pivarnick. You will learn that I’m not who you may have thought I was, but I am the same entertaining and hilarious version of what you saw, and I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you.”
