Those hoping to become the first elected police commissioner for Sussex are due to take part in a hustings event on homophobic crime.

The Argus reports that the Brighton and Hove LGBT Community Safety Forum is hosting a question and answer session for candidates who are standing for the post of Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner on Wednesday, 17 October.

Conservative candidate, Katy Bourne, Labour candidate Godfrey Daniel and Independent candidate Ian Chisnall have all confirmed that they are attending the event which will be held at the Queens Hotel in Brighton at 7pm.

Chris Cooke, Chair of the forum, told Gscene: “The hustings is an ideal opportunity for the public to hear from the PCC candidates and for them to then ask questions in an open question session.”
