Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann, was invited to star on the hit TV show “Modern Family” by one of the show’s creators, on the condition that gay marriage be legalized across the US.

After saying that the Emmy winning TV show was her favourite in a TV interview with The Insider, Anne Romney, 63, was mentioned in a tweet by Steve Levitan saying:

“Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show.”

“We’ll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam’s wedding. As soon as it’s legal,” he tweeted.

The prospective First Lady is in for a challenge, as the Republican platform 2012, which saw her husband Mitt announced as official GOP presidential candidate, also announced that they would ban gay marriage.

Ann’s husband, Mitt, was involved in a controversy recently, when one of his aides likened being gay to being a drug user or polygamist.

The comedy series features a gay couple, Mitch and Cam, who are in a committed, long-term relationship. The show is in its forth season, and has been praised for its portrayal of the couple.
