PinkNews.co.uk is looking for freelancers to join the books of the UK’s most-read LGBT publication. Covering everything from politics to celebrities, you’ll help drive our daily coverage of breaking news, features and interviews.

On any given day you could be editing a column written by the leader of the opposition, covering the latest developments on the fight for equal marriage and seeking out comment on the treatment of LGBT people in the media while still managing to write around eight other stories for a global audience.

We’d like you to have a strong degree from a respected university, with a journalism qualification or experience in reporting and media law. You’ll need to be confident to work autonomously and quickly and be able to sub your own stories. As an online publication, experience of SEO and social media is a must, together with an ability to quickly learn how to use WordPress and perform basic image manipulation.

Working hours will vary and but will usually be based at our office in Shoreditch, east London though we are also accepting applications from overseas writers to work from home and to cover night shifts.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. You don’t, of course, have to be gay to work here, we just ask that you have a strong commitment to LGBTI equality.
