Four men have been arrested over a homophobic stabbing in Camden, north London.

The four, aged between 17 and 19, were arrested in Camden yesterday morning on suspicion of attempted murder.

They are in custody at a north London police station.

A 36-year-old victim was attacked in the early hours of Monday morning as he walked near Camden Lock Bridge with two friends after a night out in a gay pub.

Police say the victim was asked if he was gay by one of the men, who he ignored.

Minutes later, one of the group returned and stabbed him in the leg and chest.

He was taken to hospital and his condition is described as stable.

Police said the “cowardly” attack was unprovoked and is being treated as homophobic.
